There are landslides, and then there was last week's Cover Wars. To say it was one sided would be an understatement. Tell Me You Love Me managed a dominant win, and I'm extremely curious to see what will happen this week when it's faced against one of last year's champion cover's sister, Crimson Bound. Cruel Beauty is one of the Cover Wars all time greats; can Crimson Bound topple the goliath that is Tell Me You Love Me?

I enjoy the crispness of both covers. Tell Me You Love Me is a tribute to minimalism, and Crimson Bound has much more going on, from the checked base of stairs to the girl with the red riding hood. But is that enough to beat the adorableness of the ripped couple and heart? Or does Crimson Bound's richness end up on top?

Sorry about the late post. This week we have Tell Me You Love Me by Julie Prestsater, last week's winner, versus Neurotica by Eliza Gordon.

These covers exemplify the best of contemporary covers. They are clean and simple with vivid splashes of colour. They're both focused on a dark object on top of a white background, and the objects themselves, whether paper-ripped people or a typewriter and a duck are charming. The use of font is also quite spectacular: Neurotica uses standard courier-type, which fits with the typewriter, and Tell Me You Love Me has a lovely, clean serif as the font for the title. Either way, these are both examples of minimalism done right!

Cover Wars is a little late today, but still as great as ever. Last week's vote was a comfortable margin of victory for The Walls Around Us. Can it win again against Tell Me You Love Me?

Let's talk about how awesome the red accents are on both covers? I love red, so this is great! I think both covers are very creative. Tell Me You Love Me has this super cool ripped paper design and it's so creative and artistic. And speaking of artistry, look at the artwork for The Walls Around Us! The cover is pretty much a work of art with awesome font, and manages to convey a creepy vibe.
