Stacking the Shelves is a book haul meme that comes from the lovely Tynga at Tynga's Reviews.
These have been somewhat of a rare treat on this blog. Mostly because P.E. and I get most of our books from the library and at random intervals that don't often work well with our blog schedule. Any who, I recently bought some super exciting books and they've made me excited about the prospect of sharing them with you guys.
Can you see it? It's only a few days old and already super loved, not to mention look at it's view.
How about now? Not just any book gets to sit on my lap.

Yes? No? How about now?
Yes, I broke and bought not one but the first TWO books in the Outlander series (Outlander and Dragonfly in Amber). I didn't originally plan to read the books as I had excuses such as:
- I have work.
- University has enough reading.
- They are gigantic!
But, 8 episodes and those evil STARZ people moved the the remainder of the season to come out in APRIL!! You crazy?! So of course, I couldn't live that long with out a wee bit of Scottish in me, so I snatched myself a copy.
Warning, I now talk to myself in a bad impersonation of a Scottish accent.
The End!

Great haul. I have been hearing nothing but amazing things about this series, both the show and the books. I plan to get my hands on book one and read it so I can see what all the fuss is about. Then step 2 is to become obsessed with the TV show. I hope you enjoy your reads this week :) Here's my STS.
ReplyDeleteI kind of jumped the gun by obsessing over the TV show all in one night and then charging to the bookstore for these. What I can say so far is, they are defintily good!

Lol. I can't really think of anyone I know who did not fall in love with Jaime. He's so perfect for the role!
ReplyDeleteEnjoy!
Is it even humanly possible not to love the guy? Plus Sam Heughan the actor is a stunner.

I've been battling with myself a lot lately over whether or not to just go ahead and buy Dragonfly in Amber even though I really don't have the time to invest in such a huge book right now, lol. I finished reading the first book right before the show began, and now I'm just obsessed. Saturdays just haven't been the same since the show went on hiatus; making us wait until April really is rather cruel of Starz!
ReplyDeleteIf there is anyone who should seriously reconsider it's probably me as I'm currently really behind on university work and it's midterm season.... but I can't help myself. I'll just have to work out a balance, it's all any of us can do.
DeleteI watched the show before the book and now that I'm ahead of the show all I want is to see how they did some of my favourite parts. April is too far away.
