Stacking the Shelves and Showcase Sunday are two weekly memes held by Tynga's Reviews and Books, Biscuits and Tea. Here we share all the new and amazing books we acquired over the past week!
First, I was really lucky and won some awesome books from @IndigoTeenBlog
Miss Peregrine's Home for Peculiar Children is gorgeous and I actually finished The Coldest Girl in Coldtown already. It was an amazing read. Anyway, I received these books on a bad day and they made it a lot better!
I also checked out a ton of books from the library. I go every few weeks and this time I swore I would only pick up three because I'm going to visit the library a lot next week. That obviously failed and I walked away with 7 new books. Whoops.
A lot of these books have been on my TBR for a while and I'm looking forward to digging in! There a few series I haven't kept up with that I'm trying to catch up on, as well as some new releases I've always meant to read. Anyway, I hope to enjoy them all!
I really loved Wither, and while Fever wasn't quite as good, still really enjoyed it. Although have yet to finally get to Sever, but since I know she has a new one coming out, I'm thinking it needs to happen soon!
ReplyDeleteWither was really awesome and I'm glad you enjoyed Fever! I fell behind on this series and now I'm trying to catch up. Her books have the prettiest covers, don't they? ;)

I am so happy to hear you enjoyed The Coldest Girl in Coldtown because I am just about to start it! Also, I am curious to see what you think of The Pledge. And I understand the struggles of going to the library... you always come out with more books than you planned :D
ReplyDeleteEnjoy your books P.E.!
Thanks, and you too! I'm curious about The Pledge too. I love the cover and I was always planning on reading it, but it kind of fell by the wayside.
DeleteI absolutely love libraries though!

Aw, your blog is so cute:) I really loved A Midsummer's Nightmare which was quite sexy for a YA book, but really sweet and took on a lot of topics I like in literature such as parental issues for instance. I really want to read The Pledge and even though Wither was such a disturbing read for me, I really enjoyed it and I can't wait to read Fever and Sever. I'm glad you enjoyed The Coldest Town in Coldtown since I've heard either loving thoughts or totally disappointed ones. I'm happy you found yourself in the loving side of the readers. Isn't it the best when you get awesome books to cheer up a sad day? Such a fantastic haul, I hope you enjoy:)
ReplyDeleteThanks! Glad you like the design :)
DeleteI'm a big fan of Kody Keplinger ever since The Duff so I'm definitely looking forward to A Midsummer's Nightmare.
I'm also glad to have enjoyed it. I'm still a huge vampire fan, so maybe that helped?
And yeah, books are an amazing escape and always make me happy. Thanks for visiting!

Ooh the two top books look interesting. Both have quite eerie covers but I'm definitely adding them to my wishlist! Just checked out the synopsis for The Pledge as well and that looks really cool too! Thanks for the heads up about all these awesome books, hope you enjoy them!!
ReplyDeleteHere's my SS :)

I think both are pretty good too. I'm definitely curious about The Pledge.
DeleteThanks for visiting!

I loved the Whiter Trilogy and Fever was a very good second book!
ReplyDeleteI still am trying to decide whether to read The Coldest Girl In Coldtown, so I can't wait to read your review!
My Showcase Sunday: http://pili-inlovewithhandmade.blogspot.com.es/2013/09/showcase-sunday-11.html
I'll spoil my review for you: read it! I think it's a really well written take on vampires and the world is just fascinating.
DeleteI'm glad you liked Fever! I'm now expecting big things from it :)

I love the Rot and Ruin series, Coldest Girl is pretty good too. Fever eas the book that I liked the least from the series.
ReplyDeleteThank as for stopping by and happy reading :)
I've seen Rot and Ruin everywhere and although I don't like zombies very much, I'm willing to give the book a shot.

Loved Fever and hope you do too.
ReplyDeleteThanks! I hope I will!

VORTEX <3 I love that someone else has read Insignia (I'm assuming you have). That series is so under-appreciated! I thought The Pledge was just okay -- but I still remember it after reading it years ago, so that says something, I think.
ReplyDeleteYes! I adored Insignia! It's definitely underrated. I was super excited when I saw Vortex at the library. :) And tbh the only reason I remembered to pick up The Pledge is that it had a pretty cover. I hope I enjoy it more than you did!
