After fleeing the Branch with Sam, Cas, and Nick, Anna is trying to make sense of the memories resurfacing from her old life. At the same time, she's learning how to survive in hiding, following Sam's rules: Don't draw attention to yourself. Always carry a weapon. Know your surroundings. Watch your back.
Then a figure from Anna's childhood reappears. Is it a Branch setup, or could it be the reunion Anna has hoped for? Uncertain of where her loyalties lie, Anna must fight to learn the truth -- before she is betrayed again. Ultimately, the answers hinge on one question: What was the real reason her memories were erased?
Jennifer Rush delivers a thrilling sequel to Altered in a novel packed with mysteries, lies, and surprises that are sure to keep readers guessing until the last age is turned.
I read the first book in this series, Altered earlier this year and really enjoyed it so I've been waiting on this one for a while now. This is a great action/thriller series, it's fast paced and fun. I'm not too happy with this cover though. The boy in the background is not what I would have envisioned Nick to look like. Also, it gives off more of a romance feeling than action. Still, it's what's in between the covers that matter and I'm really excited.
I've heard of Altered but never got around to reading it. I should, though--I've heard a lot of good things about it!

I have been meaning to read Altered, but I haven't gotten around to it yet. This sounds like something I would enjoy reading. Thanks for sharing.

For sure, it's a lighter read as it is very quick and action packed. I hope you get the chance to read it soon!

I haven't read Altered yet, but my sister really liked it. For some reason, I remember this cover being different and fitting more with Altered. It does fit well, but the font doesn't go as much. Does it? *heads to Goodreads to find out*
ReplyDeleteAh yes, I just checked. They redesigned the font! Which makes me kind of sad. I liked the uniformity between the first book and the second. But the boy is hot (too bad he doesn't match your vision of the character though)
DeleteThat's it! I knew there was something that felt off about that cover. I prefer Altered's font more. You should definitely read this series!

Haha, when I first saw this book I thought it was NA so I ignored it. Later, I saw one of my favourite book reviewers reading it so I checked out the synopsis and I was shocked :)

Oh the covers changed, right? I love this cover! I didn't LOVE Altered but it was a pretty entertaining read! :)
ReplyDeleteYes, but they only changed the title. Altered is nothing if not entertaining and engaging :)

I had the fortune to read this book already and it was SO amazing! Loved it so much, even more than Altered <3 I don't get the point of the cover changes since it's not much, but I like the new ones too :)
ReplyDeleteYay, I'm so glad you enjoyed it! I agree, unnecessary but oh well.

Not to be too shallow but I love the shirtless boy on the cover and it is fairly modest compared to some adult UF covers I've seen. Haven't read the books but sounds like they feature male MCs so it's also appropriate.
ReplyDeleteNo, it's not shallow at all. It's just a matter of person opinion and I agree, it's nothing compared to some adult covers :) You should definitely give it a go, it's a really fun series.
