WoW - Mortal Heart

"Waiting On" Wednesday is a weekly event, hosted by Breaking the Spine, that spotlights upcoming releases that we're eagerly anticipating.

Mortal Heart

November 4, 2014

Annith has watched her gifted sisters at the convent come and go, carrying out their dark dealings in the name of St. Mortain, patiently awaiting her own turn to serve Death. But her worst fears are realized when she discovers she is being groomed by the abbess as a Seeress, to be forever sequestered in the rock and stone womb of the convent. Feeling sorely betrayed, Annith decides to strike out on her own.

She has spent her whole life training to be an assassin. Just because the convent has changed its mind doesn't mean she has.

Oh my gosh! I can't believe the cover is finally here. The His Fair Assassins series is one of my absolute favourites. It's a conglomeration of history, fantasy, politics, suspense, mystery and assassins. Which is the making of a 5 star read for me. Too bad it's date of release is so far away, I don't think I can last that long!

  3. I haven't read the first book but I have it here somewhere... (didn't read the summary for fear of spoilers) but I love that cover! I should probably read the first book soon. Great pick though! Heard a lot of good things about Robin LaFevers' writing.

    1. Get on it! This is one of my favourites. I would compare it to Fire by Kristin Cashore.

    1. I agree with you on that. It looks like what I would imagine medieval Brittany to be like.

  11. Okay, that synopsis is amazing. It's so intriguing! By the way, does anyone else think of Emma Swan from the TV show Once Upon a Time when they see the girl on the cover?
