The Weekly Progress: I Need Time Edition

The Weekly Progress is a type of wrap up post that happens every Sunday on The Sirenic Codex looking on the week that was.

Last week I thought I could spend more time on the blog. Apparently I couldn't, because the world hates me life happens. School is killing me right now and maybe it's a bad idea to have not taken a spare (I took two more course than is required for twelfth grade). I will persevere!

Books Read

First, let's toast all these lovely covers! No seriously, I love them all. Siege and Storm is probably my favourite though. I love the way it shines. I read the latter two titles within twenty four hours, and overall I enjoyed all these books. Let's call it a pretty great reading week!

Currently Reading

I should have read this weeks ago but I've been busy and had a long pile of books I had to get through. I would have read this on the weekend, but apparently Kobos aren't very happy if you leave them alone for two months without charge and then try to download a book onto them. Whoops.

Blog Recap

Mari and I also had lots of fun writing this post, so check it out: How To Not Die A Gruesome, Painful Death: Lessons From Horror.

I reviewed Don't Breathe A Word, a book Mari wouldn't stop telling me to read.

Once again, Mari wrote a thoughtful post, this time about how reading The Bronze Horseman has changed her opinion of long books. As a long book enthusiast, I'm proud of Mari for joining the dark side.

Overall we had a pretty good week. We did some very creative posts as well as our usual features. I need to be around the blog more though! Next week we have a very special surprise coming up, and I hope you enjoy the series of posts to follow.

The Week That Was

A stressful week where I clearly had too much to handle. I made lots of uncharacteristic mistakes and honestly, I'm looking forward to Winter Break. Next week is going to be so bad with at minimum a test or assignment/project due every day of the week. Not fair. Also, my hockey team keeps losing which means I'm in an absolutely godawful mood.

Song of the Week

So much love for Cedric Gervais and Lana Del Rey. I was listening to so much music this week that I have a pretty huge list of songs I could have picked. This one gets it because it's such a confident song ("I know you will") and I probably need some confidence to get through the upcoming week. Sigh.

Have a great week everybody!

  3. I've been meaning to read This Song Will...such a great reception so far. I hope you can find more time to read, review and blog. But school's more important, of course. ;)

    1. It's a good book. I don't think I loved it like most people did, but I definitely thought it was a good read.

School is definitely important, but my priority is to enjoy my life, so I take time off to do things for me which interferes with school work...
