Cover Wars: A Wicked Thing vs. Gates of Thread and Stone

Cover Wars is a weekly showdown of two beautiful covers. The winner, as voted by you, goes on to face a new cover, and wins bragging rights. This is basically a fun way to discuss what we like in covers.

Gates of Thread and Stone has come out victorious yet again. This week it's facing A Wicked Thing by Rhiannon Thomas.

I'm absolutely in love with A Wicked Thin's cover. The fantastic dress and gorgeous altar scene is mesmerizing. The burgundy, gold and white themes goes quite well with the typography which is very fancy matching the dress. I love the added details in the background as well. In the alter, there are leaf like lights and the model's dress disintegrates into flowers and leaves.

As always, you have a week to vote!

LET THE VOTING COMMENCE!

  2. I personally prefer the Gates of Thread and Stone cover. A Wicked Thing looks lovely, but the cover font would have looked so much better above her, not blocking her, There's so much unneeded space.

    1. I can see what your saying. It definitely could've been done differently, but I really like the interaction between the models arm and the A.
