Day 6 of April's awesome Book Blogger Challenge.
Day 1 was about listing my 15 bookish confessions.
Day 2 was about my bedtime reading ritual.
Day 3 was about blogger BFFs.
Day 4 was about the last book I flung.
Day 5 was about tearjerkers.
Day 6 is about how I shop for books.I'm broke right now so I don't shop for books. The library is my best friend. These days, there are two ways I pick books. Either I decide that I'm going to be insanely lazy so I sit at the computer and open up the library's e-catalogue. They have a pretty good selection so I pick 3-4 books from there.
I volunteer at the library and there are meetings I need to attend once a month. So usually, this is the day when I decide not to be lazy and go look around to see what's on the shelves. I used be such a proactive reader and request every title I wanted to read then pick it up from the library. I realized later that most books that I want are inside the library.
So, I'll walk around and browse the shelves. My phone is an absolute must while doing this. Before I pick up any book, I scan it on Goodreads to read a few reviews and check the overall average star rating. Who says Goodreads/reviews don't help you pick up books?
The other way I acquire books is if I'm unable to access my computer or the library. I always have a phone with me so I use the Google Play store and browse Google Play Books. I usually pick some of their free books. They have a collection of classics that I suppose aren't too bad. I don't read books on my phone; this process usually happens if I'm desperate for something to read.
That's my process. What's yours?
