The Weekly Progress: Happy Canada Day!

The Weekly Progress is a type of wrap-up post started by P.E which is meant to be written every Sunday to look back on the week that was. But, since I (Mari) with the help of my family used up all our monthly bandwidth, this is coming to you on a Monday

Firstly, I want to wish all those celebrating Canada Day, very happy and safe celebrations!

Getting back on topic, it's been great week of relaxation after an exam week from hell. Now we're both here and ready to jump into summer 2013!

Read

Such a Rush - Jennifer Echols
This one was a reread for me as I'm trying to get out of a bad reading slump. Overall, Such A Rush is probably my favourite of Echols' works. I love the fact that the main characters are pilots and the story is set in an airport. Very different from anything I've read before and I love it for that.

Currently Reading:

Anatomy of a Single Girl - Daria Snadowsky
This one was sent to me for review and I'm not too far into it but it looks like a really fun read!

 On the Blog

I think we had some of our greatest content, so far, up this week.
  1. P.E's reviewed The Girl in the Clockwork Collar by Kady Cross, which she really enjoyed. I haven't read this series yet but it looks quite promising.
  2. I spotlighted Don't Turn Around by Michelle Gagnon. A great and fast paced read featuring hackers!!
  3. I then wrote about my special remedy for curing reading slumps in my post: Reading Slump Cure: Manga. The post features some of my favourite mangas of all time.
  4. On Wednesday P.E posted about some great fantasy novels titled, Epic Fantasy Watch. Personally I've been eying The Name of the Wind for a while.
  5. P.E then reviewed Sanctum by Sarah Fine. A book that neither of  us have seen much of but she really enjoyed.
  6. Lastly, I posted Top 5: 2014 Cover Reveals. 2014 is starting to look like a very promising year in the cover department!

Current Obsessions

Just to name a few:
  • Vanness Wu: I watched him in Autumn's Concerto which is a Taiwanese drama earlier this month and lets just say he left an impression. Currently, I am in love with his new album (yes he sings!) Different Man!
  • Game of Thrones: I take sole credit for P.E's addiction to this show but it seems ghastly that I am actually behind on it myself. I'm working on it though. I'm currently on Season 2 episode 6 and things are getting exciting!
  • Arctic Air: Another tv show, I saw this one on someones blog and it really peaked my interest. I've always wanted to watch more Canadian shows and not ones based in Toronto or Vancouver we all know those are prominent cities. Arctic Air is set in Yellowknife and features an airplane business. I blame Such a Rush for this one.

In Conclusion

It's been a great start to the summer and the blog. We thank you guys for sticking with us and hope you continue to do so!
